Cheap trick Friday: library extension

My library posted this browser extension on Facebook the other day, and I’m already hooked. It’s an extension that you put onto your browser – Chrome and Firefox – and when you go to get a book or audiobook from Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, or Audible, it shows you if it’s available from your library, and you can just click on the link to reserve it. It couldn’t be easier, and sometimes I need a bit of a reminder that “HEY THIS IS FREE STOP CLICKING BUY NOW.”

The screenshot above is from this morning, apparently Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is still super popular. Remember when it first came out and people were like “oh no it’s the devil” and other people were like “at least kids are reading” and now it’s GOOD GOD IT’S BEEN TWO DECADES. Anyway, Sonya is just entering the age where she reads an entire book on the first day she gets it, which can be an expensive habit if you just keep buying them. Also did you know Babysitter’s Club Books now come in graphic novels? We are truly living in the future.
